A pedestrian tunnel under the railroad tracks leading from the docks to "downtown" Whittier....which consists essentially of one large building which houses 95% of the town's occupants.
That monstrosity of a abandoned white building in the distance was built during the "Cold War" by the US Army....they pulled out of the area a mere six years after that building was completed. What a waste...and now a hazmat eyesore.
